Our team are constantly refining and developing the Brandwatch application to ensure the service our clients are using is the best available.
A lot has happened over the past few months, so we thought we should update you on some of the major changes so far in 2011. And going forwards, as Brandwatch continues to rapidly evolve, we’ll update you every week on the tweaks and developments we make to the service.
Major Updates Summary for 2011 so far:
January: Projects-Based User Interface
We introduced a new projects-based user interface so clients can better organise and share their work, and with various usability enhancements. For more information, read our CTO Fabrice Retkowsky’s tutorial post on what Projects mean in Brandwatch and how to work with them.
February: Bulk Tagging
We have added facilities which enable large amounts of data to be categorised and tagged much more quickly. Users can create a query within their current query, and then select all the resulting mentions to be bulk-tagged with a certain term or deleted, with one action. Those of you who spend any reasonable amount of time tagging and categorising data, this one’s for you.
March: Facebook Page Query
Users can now set up a query specifically to monitor their Facebook page. This query will provide a feed of any updates and comments to their page and the data is broken down into a format pretty similar to a regular Brandwatch query. Among other things, that includes automatic sentiment categorisation, recurring-phrase wordclouds and a timeline of all activity on your Facebook page. If Facebook Insights isn’t enough for you, we hope this facility might provide what you’re missing.
Where we are at present:
April 4th: Faster User Interface
We are always working to ensure the user interface operates as quickly and as smoothly as possible, this means both making sure our servers are running seamlessly at the back-end and that the application is fully optimised at the front-end, i.e. in your browser. This week we have released another batch of optimisations which should particularly help slower browsers like IE8, and also speed up the test-search process.
There have been countless other developments already in 2011 but that should update you on the most significant so far. And, from here on in, every Monday we’ll post a short summary of any changes made to the software the week before.
