We launched in the UK in August 2007, but even at that early stage, always had intentions of branching out to the US.
So, with the rapid growth we’ve achieved over the past 18 months, we’ve decided that 2011 is the right time to make it happen.
Why now? There are two key motivations:
We’ve built up a number of clients in the US as well as having international clients that use Brandwatch in their US offices. Establishing a physical presence there means we can offer more of the top client support that we are renowned for providing in Europe.
It makes sense to run an office operating on US-time and it will also enable us to visit US clients more often to make sure they are getting the most out of Brandwatch.
The second motivation is to actively build Brandwatch in the US market. We have earned an extremely strong reputation in Europe and our customers rate us on par with the leading players in the US, so we are confident we have something to offer the US market.
A key aspect of moving to the US and continuing to expand is ensuring we maintain the values we’ve kept at our core since we launched. Amongst these are that we are:
– Open and honest
– Committed to creating the best tool in the industry
– Passionate about innovation in: big data, analysis and social media
Placing great importance on maintaining these values, we’re very pleased to announce that Sebastian Hempstead, previous Head of Sales and Account Management in the UK and Europe, will be moving over to New York to head up US operations.
Sebastian’s been at Brandwatch for over two years and has built up a fantastic client-base so far: “As a company with a strong European history in delivering world-class social media monitoring and analysis projects it’s clear to us that there’s a need for a tool like Brandwatch to enter the US market. We’re very excited about the challenge to come and look forward to working closely with our current US clients and establishing many new relationships over the coming years.”
