Get Ready for a Busload of Fun at South by Southwest

It’s the most exciting and prestigious event of the digital calendar, and often the key battleground for new sites, apps and other startups looking to become the Next Big Thing – and 2013’s offering promises more than ever.

Yes, we’re talking about South by Southwest, and Brandwatch will be there in force. Rather than simply turn up though, we decided to bring along a London-style red double decker bus to represent good old Blighty at the festival.

Brandwatch has its roots in the UK, as do our friends at Econsultancy and EngageSciences, but all three of us have since blossomed into American darlings, with offices on both sides of the great undrinkable. Does the bus start to make a bit more sense now?

So, for this Saturday, Sunday and Monday, in partnership with Econsultancy and EngageSciences, we’ll be driving around the centre of Austin, complete with snacks, classic Pimms cocktails and Austin Beerworks beer.

Those who didn’t receive an email invite from us pre-event will need to tweet using the #SXSWRedBus hashtag. Try and think of something fun, insightful or interesting, ideally about technology, a person or the festival itself. We’ll then tweet back to let you know if you’ve been selected to board the bus.

You can also keep an eye on the proceedings over at @SXSWRedBus, and remember that we’ll have music, giveaways and prizes and will be interviewing some of the biggest names in digital throughout the week, so make sure you listen out for those.
