Product Update: 11 January 2011

In this first Product Update of 2011, let me recap the changes we have made to Brandwatch over the last month.

First of all, we have significantly increased the size of the Brandwatch application, by adding more capacity to our Crawling and Storage systems. As a result we’ve increased our coverage of the web, in particular of Twitter and news sites. Facebook enhancements will follow very soon. This upgrade has also improved the responsiveness of the user interface, and another optimisation will be released very soon there as well.

Next, our language analysis people have developed a new, improved mechanism to identify the sentiment of mentions. This mechanism is now used for all new sentiment classifiers, and will result in more accurate sentiment ratings.

Talking about language, we have also added support for Norwegian and Finnish.

Last and not least, I would like to welcome Luke, Simon, Graham and Sebastian, who joined us in the last few weeks and who will help make Brandwatch ever better. To find out more about the team, check this out.
