React: Twitter Reacts to Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 5

Brandwatch monitors how Twitter reacts to Game of Thrones season 6 episode 5 minute-by-minute.

Episode 5 of series 6 has hit our screens and tweeters have, again, gone wild.

**SPOILER ALERT: We won’t go into the details of what happened but we’ll tell you which characters were mentioned most and when. If you want to avoid that, we’d suggest coming back later.**


The Door

Described as “emotionally powerful,” we found 66k mentions of the show on Twitter throughout the first hour long showing.

This marked a change in Twitter behavior.

Last week we revealed a downward slope of Game of Thrones related tweets during episodes since the premiere. While we’re nowhere near the heights of the first and second episodes, this marks around 6k more tweets than last week.

It was the final moments of the show that got the most tweets, with over 4k being registered per minute in the final parts. If you’ve not seen the show yet, brace yourself for the finale.

We took a look at the top mentioned phrases in the last two minutes and there are a whole lot of expletives and Red Wedding references.


Hodor, King of Twitter for the week

We won’t tell you why he’s got such big mentions this time, but you should definitely watch to find out if you haven’t yet.
