Sebastian Hempstead, Brandwatch’s new VP North America, will be speaking at Social Media Marketing and Monitoring 2011 in New York later today.
We officially announced our US office yesterday, and this event is one of a series that members of the US team will be attending over the coming months.
Sebastian’s speaking at 2.20pm, with his talk titled “Finding Gold in Social Data Part 2: Useful Tips on Looking at Conversation Data”.
The presentation will cover ways of segmenting social data to turn it into something useful. When we’re looking at masses of data through a social media monitoring tool, it’s important to draw out what constitutes non-interesting data, interesting data and critical data.
Using a case study of network switching, focusing on AT&T, Sebastian will illustrate how to dive into each type of data and turn it into valuable information.
Crucially, an example will then be given showing that this information can be translated into monetary terms, even as far as estimating the financial consequences of a particular set of mentions.
If you’re at SMM11 too, come and say hello!
