Team GB: The Social Media Rankings 9/8

Another fine day in English capital marked day 13 of the Olympics. After day 12’s huge haul of medals for Team GB, yesterday was a little more measured.

Chris Hoy remains top of our Olympic leaderboard after yesterday’s domination for the obvious reasons, as outlined in this post.

Guaranteed silver-winner Nicola Adams confirmed her place in the final, meaning she became the second-most discussed person on social media yesterday.

The 8th of August was largely a day to discuss the established Olympic heroes, with the inactive Laura Trott, Jessica Ennis, Andy Murray, Tom Daley, Victoria Pendleton and Alistair Brownlee all making our leaderboard despite not competing on the day.

Nick Skelton just missed out on a medal after clipping a fence in the final round, which became enough of a talk-point to propel him into ninth place on the list.

Mo Farah also rises a few places since the 7th, as he competed in the 5k heats to earn himself a place in the final to stay in contention for a double gold.

Keep an eye out for tomorrow’s post, where we will look at how Team GB are faring on social media for their exploits on the 9th of August.
