As we continue to rapidly expand our US team, we are hiring a Client Service Executives to join our Agency team here in our NYC office.

The Role

As an Agency Client Services Executive, you will manage a base of Agency & Indirect customers, primarily Independents, helping to ensure their continued success using Brandwatch, as well as retaining their business and increasing revenue where opportunity exists.

You’ll collaborate closely with relevant Group Managers (our Agency Sales Executives) to address and act on significant opportunities and risks within Group or Key Agencies.

In addition to how well you develop revenue from your existing client list, your success will also be measured and recognised on your ability to generate brand-direct business referrals.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Manage the onboarding of new clients and agency teams
  • Establish regular proactive/check-in calls and formal meetings with your clients
  • Develop an understanding of your clients’ needs, challenges, and outputs to best provide strategic advice through the use of Brandwatch platforms and/or services
  • Identify and close relevant revenue uplift opportunities within your client base
  • Manage account renewals for your client base, collaborating with Group Managers around retention strategy and implementation where relevant
  • Work with the Brandwatch technical support team to troubleshoot user issues and concerns

You will also…

  • Become an expert in using the Brandwatch tool
  • Collaborate with our team of analysts (and occasionally developers) on the management and delivery of custom client projects and Brandwatch set-ups; this includes owning client communication and ensuring work is delivered to exceptional standards
  • Communicate and present product, service and industry updates to clients
  • Attend occasional and relevant trade shows and networking events (these may be out of office hours)

The right candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years working within a client-facing role
  • Experience in a fast-paced working environment

Brandwatch is continuing to build a Lead Generation Sales Team to help expand our presence in EMEA.  Enterprise Sales Development reps are responsible for generating new business opportunities that fuel the sales pipeline for Senior Sales Executives to close. What will I actually be doing?

Day-to-day tasks consist of organic promotion, strategic planning, creative development, trafficking, optimization, reporting and analysis.

Skills and Requirements

  • Ideally you will have worked within Social Media as a community manager or intern, on the agency, publisher or brand side with an ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of major Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • A high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
  • Be active and passionate about social business; demonstrate an eagerness to learn and share best practices, new trends and major developments in the social space
  • Strong quantitative skills, including some understanding of Facebook insights, Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics and experience with third party vendors, especially Brandwatch a plus

Data is the life-blood of a company like Brandwatch, and as we approach the petabyte mark, the challenges we face are interesting and rewarding. We are looking for someone who would find these challenges interesting and rewarding too.  

You will be joining the team responsible for the data storage and retrieval systems, primarily focusing on Solr, HBase, Hadoop, Zookeeper and Kafka. Some familiarity with PostgreSQL databases would be beneficial, though this is not a primary responsibility of this role.

We are looking for someone who is smart, capable, enthusiastic and willing to learn these systems in greater depth. You will be part of the 24×7 support rota covering these systems, so will need to coolly handle incidents on the platforms and more importantly be working to preempt any issues.

Your role will include:

  • Working with the rest of the team to maintain our production Hadoop, HBase, Solr and Kafka infrastructure on a 24×7 basis
  • Identify performance bottlenecks in the platform, including: deep-diving into the source-code to identify issues with the storage systems and working very closely with the developer teams to avoid anti-patterns, and identifying workable alternatives if so
  • Improving our puppet codebase and python-based tooling, in order to simplify and automate recurring tasks
  • Continually improving instrumentation and monitoring
  • Identify new technologies and capabilities for the improvement of the Brandwatch platform, from within or outside the Hadoop ecosystem

You will have:

  • First-hand experience supporting a live production system
  • Experience with Linux server configuration and performance tuning in a production environment

Data is the life-blood of a company like Brandwatch, and as we approach the petabyte mark, the challenges we face are interesting and rewarding. We are looking for someone who would find these challenges interesting and rewarding too.  

You will be joining the team responsible for the data storage and retrieval systems, primarily focusing on Solr, HBase, Hadoop, Zookeeper, Postgres and Kafka, and for building the support infrastructure around them. Failures, breakages and slow-downs in these systems are in some sense inevitable, but wherever we can’t stop them happening the first time, we focus on building out the infrastructure to prevent an issue from happening twice.

We are looking for a Python developer who can help build world-class infrastructure for dealing with the gnarly real-world operational issues we face.

Your role will include:

  • Working with the rest of the team to maintain our production Hadoop, HBase, Solr and Kafka infrastructure on a 24×7 basis
  • Encapsulation and automation of recurring tasks, principally via our python-based tooling and Puppet based configuration management
  • Learning and handling the open-source storage systems in great depth, including:
  • Deep-diving into the source-code to identify issues with the storage systems
  • Working very closely with the other engineering teams to avoid anti-patterns in system usage, and identifying workable alternatives if so
  • Patching the storage systems according to need and pushing any fixes upstream for the wider community
  • Continually improving instrumentation, monitoring and metric collection, for issue prevention and for capacity planning
  • Peer-review of code, configurations and practices in the team
  • Identify new technologies and approaches for the improvement of our platform

You will have:

  • Experience coding for production systems in Python. Any Java experience would be highly beneficial.
  • 3+ years experience supporting a production system, and the complexity that entails
  • Experience using Hadoop and awareness of its ecosystem
  • Exposure to Linux systems administration, and competence working on the command line
