The Brandwatch engineering team is going through a pretty fast evolution. In 2014 alone we nearly doubled in size and reached the milestone of 100 Engineers. In an industry where needs and solutions evolve faster than ever, we felt the need for a clearer sense of purpose, a direction for what we are trying to achieve and how we will contribute to the success of our company.

Brandwatch is loved by its employees

And by its customers

This is an amazing opportunity to join the team in a very influential position

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our world-class Product team

It’s a big role, responsible for overseeing the product direction of the company. We already have an extremely strong product team so the tl;dr on this role is that success will be taking what we have and building on it.

The person in this role sits on the operational board of the company, has a team of 7 product managers as direct reports and in turn reports into the CEO.

So who is going to get this awesome role? Here are some of the characteristics we’re looking for:

1. Leadership

Do people want to follow you? Do you inspire confidence? Are you a good listener? Do you really care about the development of people in your team? Do people smile and nod when other colleagues say how amazing you are? And would previous reports cite you as one of if not the major influence in their career? These are the kinds of things that all Brandwatchers aspire to – especially senior folks.

2. A connector

Brandwatch has achieved a degree of scale. 6 offices, of which 5 have developer teams, 300 staff, 1,200 customers. It’s starting to get complicated. The CPO will be comfortable with this complexity and will act as a connector between the different functions and offices within the company, listening and distilling all sources of information into key priorities. Maturity is the watchword here

3. Organisational development

You will have a direct team of close to 10 people this year, and set to double over the next two years. As well as being the custodian of the existing team, we need you to extend and develop it and its place in the organisation.

4. Team

We work in teams. We put the success of the team before the success of the individual. Does that make you think ‘Great, that’s exactly how it should be’?

5. History of excellence

We are aiming high here at Brandwatch. That takes ambition and the discipline and work ethic to make it happen. The person filling this role needs to have these attributes – non negotiable.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience required

  • 10+ years of experience in the technology, Internet and/or media industries.

  • A strong track record of building great software

  • Previous success in building, growing and leading multiple distributed international teams would be a bonus

  • Proven track record to attract, select, motivate, retain, and develop leaders and team members; able to accurately appraise the strengths and weaknesses of team members and build a strong, diverse team that complements each other to achieve outstanding results.

Salary Package

  • Strong options package

  • 25 days holiday, private medical
