The Brandwatch engineering team is going through a pretty fast evolution. In 2014 alone we nearly doubled in size and reached the milestone of 100 Engineers. So if you’re looking for that first break, that opportunity to work in a company small enough for you to have a massive impact as a member of a global marketing team, but big enough that it’s already making a serious name for itself and successfully operating in New York, San Francisco, London, Berlin and our headquarters in Brighton, then this could be the role for you.

This SEO writer position is a career opportunity for you – a smart, passionate marketer – to employ your raw skills and enthusiasm to drive projects that will significantly impact the company’s future. Extensive training will be provided, but we’re looking for someone who can come in with plenty of ambition and take this role into places we might not have expected.

Brandwatch is growing at a rate that excites its shareholders, in a market with tons of potential and dynamism, in an environment that highly values contribution, character and fun along the way.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Using your excellent copywriting skills, you’ll be able to write concise and compelling content that will resonate with our audience and help increase our search visibility.

  • You will build and maintain relationships to help secure off-site content placements.

  • You will monitor keyword performance and the search landscape to identify the best opportunities to increase search visibility.

  • High level of attention to detail including proofreading skills.

  • An understanding of digital marketing and social media.

  • A good communicator – you’ll be excited about building relationships to help secure off-site content placements.

  • Fast learner.

  • Independent worker – You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to manage your own time effectively.

Bonus points for:

  • An understanding of Search Engine Optimisation best practice.

  • Experience in writing SEO content.

  • Analytical skills – you will be responsible for analysing and reporting on your how your activity is contributing to our existing marketing.

  • Experience of using WordPress.

Brandwatch is forging the path for the next level of social intelligence. We have already created the best Enterprise Social Intelligence platform in the world, but that’s just the start. We’re on a mission to bring together the things we do well – engineering, design and understanding customer needs – to help businesses and brands prove and optimise the value of their marketing in an ever-changing social world. We are creating new products and solutions that enhance the intelligence our customers get from social data, to help them make smarter and quicker business decisions. Better. Bolder. More Brilliant.

The Brandwatch engineering team is going through a pretty fast evolution. In 2014 alone we nearly doubled in size and reached the milestone of 100 Engineers. In an industry where needs and solutions evolve faster than ever, we felt the need for a clearer sense of purpose, a direction for what we are trying to achieve and how we will contribute to the success of our company.

And so… our mission was born:

To build a real data platform and an ecosystem of intelligent products, with world-class engineering.

With world-class execution: quick iterations of high-quality work from our development teams which already span 3 countries. These teams will continue to grow and multiply, as with our recent acquisition of Peer Index.

As we continue our fast expansion, we are hiring a Team Lead for the product team in our office in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. You will line manage the cross-functional team of developers, QA and UX practitioners, working together to deliver new functionality for our flagship product.

You’ll report to the VPE Product (FrontEnd), based in our Brighton HQ.

The role will include:
  • Leadership of a small but growing team
  • Working with the VPE Product (frontend) to grow the team over 2015
  • Working closely with representatives from our Product and Project teams to deliver high-quality functionality in an Agile fashion
What you need:
  • Significant experience of web development using either JavaScript (Node.Js with Backbone or a similar framework) or Java (using Spring)
  • Hands-on experience of using Agile frameworks to handle development projects
  • An appreciation of the importance of BDD and/or TDD techniques
  • Exceptional people management skills
Engineering Team:
  • Small teams of skilled people, in a friendly and relaxed environment
  • Commitment to writing well-tested, robust, and peer-reviewed code
  • Working with people all over the world
  • “Funky Friday” takes place every other week giving you 10% of your time to work on something new, reading groups, tech talks, generous training and conference budgets, and any technical books you need

What we offer;

Benefits: Offering a range of benefits including: 30 days paid holiday, free car-sharing membership to Drivenow and health/benefits packages.

Culture: Brandwatch is a place where the lines between work and fun are blurred. As a growing international company, with 7 offices across the globe, communication is key to ensure everyone’s voices are heard, and helps us maintain our flat structure. We listen and learn. We develop our staff. We care about everything, and above all we support each other.

Working for Brandwatch: Brandwatch in Berlin can be found in brand new office located in Prenzlauerberg. We have a flexible working environment with cupboards bursting with snacks (a range to satisfy all taste buds), fresh fruit boxes, a drinks fridges and, of course, coffee. Take a break at the Foosball table, enjoy Frühstück Fridays and sushi lunches, indulge in a fortnightly massage or our health & well being classes.
