The esports market has grown massively over the last few years, and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down. More and more brands see an opportunity to collaborate with esports teams or sponsor big esports tournament events.

FaZe Clan has played a vital role in this development and expanded over the last few years. But with growth comes more data, more stakeholders, and more complex processes, especially when it comes to campaign tracking.

We spoke with Jennie Parungao, VP of Revenue Operations and Account Management at FaZe Clan, to discover how Brandwatch Influence helped the esports brand improve its campaign reporting.

About FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan is one of the biggest players in the esports market. The US esports and entertainment organization was founded in 2010 and went public in July 2022 as the first esports brand. FaZe Clan has esports teams all over the world in different disciplines, like CS:GO, FIFA, and Fortnite.

The early days of the administrative nightmare

In the early days, FaZe Clan could get by tracking campaigns in Google Sheets and chasing down creators for screenshots of their social analytics. But even basic reporting was a nightmare, and as brands got savvier, their expectations increased around campaign reporting.

Real-time reporting changes the game

Influence’s automated, real-time reporting was a game changer for the brand. FaZe Clan’s advertisers and sponsors can now monitor campaign performance via a white-labeled dashboard. This saves FaZe Clan’s team days of work per campaign and provides valuable insights for their clients. In fact, Faze Clan have managed to save a whopping 85% of the hours they used to spend on reporting.

"Before Influence, we faced a challenge when it came to timely reports on branded socials. But now, since clients have direct access to reporting, we save a LOT of time from having to collect and make the data ‘pretty,'" explained Jennie Parungao.

The results

Originally brought in to enable FaZe Clan’s sales team, Brandwatch Influence’s use cases have expanded to talent management, marketing, and account management. With the meteoric rise of esports, brands are willing to pay more but also expect more. Influence is used by multiple departments daily at FaZe Clan to deliver on-demand, accurate campaign reporting. This is how Jennie explained it:

“Everything changed when we brought on Influence. Our clients want more, and Influence enables us to deliver it with real-time, accurate campaign reporting. We spend less time gathering stats and more time serving our clients.”
