Q1: What are we using AI to do?

The following is a summary of our current high level use cases at Brandwatch:

  • to help us summarize large volumes of published articles or other public content and identify narratives (themes) that may emerge. 
  • to help compose press release and online/social media copy

We use a combination of our own in house AI and third party vendors. 

Third party vendors include OpenAI and Speechify, both of which are optional for our customers to use. 

Q2: Do you allow OpenAI to use the data you give it to feed its machine learning?

No, we have opted not to allow this.

Q3: How long does OpenAI keep the data we give it?

OpenAI and its sub-processors keep data for 30 days for support/security purposes.

Q4: Does OpenAI share any information we give it with other users?

No, it is logically separated.

Q5: Who can view customer data we provide to OpenAI?

Our team members who work on providing services to customers for quality and support reasons and OpenAI employees may also review content for security or safety reasons.

Q6: Can our customers choose to not use OpenAI for their data?

Yes, customers can opt-out within Brandwatch’s platform through the User Admin interface.

Q7: How do our customers request deletion of any of their data that we have given to OpenAI?

Customers can request deletion of any data that they have provided to us or to OpenAI by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].

Q8: Which Sub-Processors do OpenAI use?

You can find information about the Sub-Processors that OpenAI uses by visiting their Sub-Process page.
