Brandwatch is the one of the most exciting tech companies in the world, powered by two social media intelligence products: Analytics and Vizia.

What does that mean? Well, the platform gathers millions of online conversations every day and provides users with the tools to analyze them, empowering the world’s largest brands and agencies with insights to help them make better decisions.

We are looking for someone to help us grow by over 50% next year, as part of a genuinely innovative, thoughtful and different marketing team. We want to be more famous and respected than we have any right to be, and we’ll need a capable Junior Content Researcher to help us get there. This has to be someone who will quickly learn how to derive, interpret and convey engaging insights from the Brandwatch Analytics platform, showing the world just how valuable social data can be.

The ideal candidate will be:

Someone who is interested in joining a company that encourages ambition and autonomy, and who is aiming to make a real impact. We’re a well-funded enterprise of more than 350 people that hasn’t forgotten what it feels like to be the startup underdog.

Confident with research methodology and statistical analysis. A degree in a quantitative field, such as economics, physics, math, statistics, chemistry, biology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science, engineering, or business analytics is preferred.

A logical thinker. She or he must be capable of learning to use intricate toolkits, such as Boolean operators, to conduct research projects … but don’t worry if you don’t know what that is yet!

Someone with a certain spark of creativity in how they go about their work. We’re looking for someone who can independently come up with engaging research ideas with social data, and not just capable of following a set of instructions.

A truly effective communicator and writer. He or she must be able to understand and convey data insights to a broad audience in a way that keeps people coming back for more.

A positive, helpful attitude and an appreciation of teamwork and an open company culture.

Responsibilities will include:

Working alongside the content team to help establish Brandwatch as the single leader in social media intelligence, specifically driving interest in the capabilities of the Brandwatch Analytics platform.

Designing unique and engaging research projects powered by social data.

Use Brandwatch Analytics to identify and analyze specific subsets of online conversation.

Interpreting insights into compelling data-driven stories.

Coordinating with Public Relations, Demand Generation, Community Management, Design and Website teams on content campaigns.

We’re on a mission to bring together the things we do well – engineering, design and understanding customer needs – to help businesses and brands prove and optimise the value of their marketing in an ever-changing social world.

As Brandwatch continues to grow we are looking for undergraduates to join us on our journey for their ‘year in industry’.  There is undoubtedly much to learn from, and contribute to, in our dynamic development environment. With a number of different teams in our Engineering department tackling exciting problems around terabytes of social data, web crawling, network analysis and data visualisation, this is an opportunity to get your teeth into cutting-edge technology.

We are a group of people around the world working together to create something amazing – doing something no-one has done before, and in a way no-one has thought of. This is the ideal opportunity for undergraduates that are looking to gain industry experience as part of their undergraduate degree.  A chance to be a trailblazer. It’s a job that will give you interesting problems to solve, and the chance to learn new skills and work with new technologies.

Here at Brandwatch we work in small product teams. We avoid high-stress environments by working on a single project at a time, putting quality first. We’d rather reduce scope than rush and produce a buggy feature. There will be a lot of whiteboard collaboration with a product owner, UX designer, and back and front-end developers to build really innovative features.

What are we looking for?

  • A current undergraduate that is looking to join a technology focused and innovative company
  • A self-starter with a passion and a drive for experimentation and technology
  • Proficient at Java
  • Keen to experiment with technologies such as Spring, Apache Kafka, Hadoop (Data) and PostgreSQL
  • An avid social media user
