Ice Cream Map of Britain, According to Social Data

It turns out the UK is divided between Magnums and Cornettos

Heading into another scorching day and hearing the words “Furnace Friday,” the React team needed a cool challenge.

Having spent the week wading through baking data, the sun on our backs, it was time to delve into something more chill – it was time for ice cream data.

So, taking 11,000 tweets about ice cream between 1st June – 24th July 2018 and zooming in on 10 major UK cities, we were ready for those frosty insights.

Magnum and Cornetto are classic ice creams in Britain so it’s not surprising to see them high on our list, although we never anticipated it would be such a close race between them.

All in all, Magnum clinched the title of Britain’s most talked about ice cream, just 67 mentions ahead of the Cornetto.

As the summer shows no sign of cooling down we expect there will be plenty more ice cream conversation to analyse in the coming weeks.
