Organic content is a huge investment for brands – but knowing which content is worth the paid promotion can be tough. That’s where our brand-new Auto-Boosting feature comes in.

This feature, which sits inside Brandwatch Advertise, is made to help you effortlessly promote your highest-performing content – so you can focus on the important stuff.

With added functionality, such as approval workflows and custom parameters, our Auto-Boosting feature is guaranteed to only promote content that both performs well and aligns with your strategy.

So, how does it work? Let’s dive in.

Tailor your Boosting parameters

You set the parameters, and we’ll do the rest.

Set conditions inside Brandwatch Advertise for the types of content you want to be promoted. When a post meets these conditions, it’ll automatically be promoted to your chosen audience.

These parameters include engagement rate, impressions, comments, or reactions. For example, if a post surpasses a set threshold, such as an engagement rate of 4%, it’ll get Auto-Boosted to reach more people.

Find the right criteria for Auto-Boosting

Use data to determine the best threshold for promotion.

To make the most of Auto-Boosting, we recommend leveraging historical performance data from Brandwatch Measure.

Here’s how you can determine the optimal criteria for promotion:

  • Use the Measure Content Performance dashboard to analyze post performance over the past six months on the channel where Auto-Boosting will be set up.
  • Sort the table by the key metric you want to use for Auto-Boosting. For example, sorting by Engagement Rate will show your top-performing posts in descending order.
  • Identify the highest-performing posts and choose a level that is 10-30% lower than your best post. For instance, if your top post has an engagement rate of 4.75%, you might set your threshold at 4%.
  • Use this level as your Auto-Boosting criteria to ensure only the top 10-30% of posts get promoted to a wider audience.

By following these steps, you’ll make data-driven decisions using Advertise and Measure for a more effective paid strategy.

Align your content to the right audience

Set the criteria for reaching your target demographic.

Reaching the right audience is critical – so we’ve made it as easy as possible. With Auto-Boosting you’re able to set the parameters yourself inside Advertise.

When choosing your audience, focus on quality over quantity. Look for people who naturally align with your brand – whether that’s shared interests, location, or age and gender characteristics. These are the fans most likely to stay engaged and eventually convert. Investing in the right audience pays off far more than simply growing your numbers.

This way, when a Facebook post is boosted, you’re making sure it’s being seen by the right people – like a sportswear brand targeting people interested in cycling.

This means you’re not only more likely to see an increase in your content’s engagement rate, but you’re also more likely to attract the right people to your brand.

Stay in control of what’s Boosted

Stay in control of your Boosted posts with approval workflows.

Brandwatch helps you stay in control of which posts get promoted. If a post meets your Boosting criteria, you can set up email notifications to ensure quick approval by the right team member. This way, all content that is promoted is guaranteed to align with your brand strategy.

Filter with custom labels

We’ve added custom labels to Boosted posts to make your reporting easier.

We’ve added custom labels to Boosted posts to make reporting easier and more insightful.

Custom labels help you analyze your content faster by tagging posts based on campaigns, product categories, or any other criteria that matter to you. This gives you full visibility into what’s performing.

You can also use labels to fine-tune Auto-Boosting. Set conditions to ensure only posts with specific labels are considered – or use labels to exempt certain posts from being auto-boosted. For example, if your Auto-Boosting rule is to promote posts with a 4%+ engagement rate, but a post is labeled “meme,” you can exclude it from being boosted.

Plus, these labels link directly to reporting inside Brandwatch Measure, helping you understand which types of Boosted posts resonate most with your audience
